SMART Online Banking – Open House Tonight

Yesterday marked an exciting milestone for The Farmers bank. We are thrilled to share that more than 1,500 customers logged in, completing over 500 transactions. We saw activity across all areas of the platform from address changes and transfers to stop payments and even bill pay.

To those who reached out with questions, whether by phone, email, or in person at one of our financial centers, thank you for your patience. We know higher call and request volumes made things busier than usual.

SMART Online Banking was designed with you in mind, and we look forward to continuing to provide tools that make managing your finances easier, faster, and more secure. Above all else, we want to thank you for choosing The Farmers Bank.

We’ve launched our brand-new SMART Online Banking dashboard and we’re celebrating with an exciting giveaway! Our new dashboard makes managing your money easy and accessible anywhere – whether it on the web, your iPhone, iPad, or even your Apple Watch.

As a part of our SMART Online Banking launch, we’re excited to offer customers the chance to win great prizes as a part of our launch giveaway! Every customer who logs into SMART Online Banking between now and October 17, 2025, will be automatically entered for a chance to win. You can also enter to win at any of our Financial Center locations.

Prizes include an iPhone 17 Pro (1st Place), iPad Air 13” (2nd Place), or Apple Watch Series 11 (3rd Place). See below for a complete set of contest rules.

Open House Available Tonight
Staff will be available again tonight, Tuesday, September 30, at your Financial Center from 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm to assist you in-person with SMART Online Banking questions. This will be the last night for our Open House.

You can visit a financial center or call the number below if you need help logging in or have questions about a new feature. Please note banking services and appointments will not be available during this time.

Protect Your Information
As we roll out our new SMART Online Banking experience, we want to remind our customers to stay vigilant. Unfortunately, phishing attempts – fraudulent emails or texts that try to trick you into providing personal information often increase during times of change like this upgrade.

Please know that The Farmers Bank will never email or text you to ask for your password, Social Security number, or other sensitive details. If you receive a text like the example below that came to a staff member of The Farmers Bank today, do not click on any links.

Stay Alert: Safety Tips
Please take a moment to review these tips to help keep your account safe during our transition to the SMART Online Banking dashboard.

  1. Verify Before You Click – Only log in through our official website or app. Avoid clicking on links in unsolicited emails or texts. If you are not sure, you can always visit TheFarmersBank.com directly to access your account.
  2. Watch for Urgent or Unusual Requests – be cautious of messages that pressure you to act quickly, provide account details, or send payments.
  3. Confirm Sender Information – fraudulent emails often look convincing but may use slightly misspelled names or unusual email addresses.
  4. Keep Your Credentials Private – The Farmers Bank will never ask you to share your username, password, or secure access word by email, phone, or text. The Farmers Bank will never ask you to provide account details over the phone without you first confirming your security word. You can always call us 765-654-8731 so that you know you are talking to the bank.
  5. Report Suspicious Activity – If you receive a questionable message or notice unauthorized transactions, contact your local Financial Center or for businesses the Treasury Management team immediately.

  • After Hours: For questions that come up after 7:00 pm this evening, please use the self-service options available on the dashboard. You are also welcome to send an email and a TFB Staff member will get back to you when the bank re-opens on Wednesday.

Feature Availability Update
We wanted to provide you with an update regarding two of the features on the SMART Online Banking dashboard. When you log in, two of the features are not yet available:

  • Handi-Cash – accounts are currently not displaying when customers log in. Handi-Cash is still active on your account while it may not be displaying on the dashboard.
  • Customer-to-Customer Transfers – This feature is not yet working and available. It allows you to transfer money directly from your account to another Farmers Bank customer’s account.

We are actively working with our software provider to resolve these issues and expect to have it available very soon. We appreciate your patience and understanding as we work to ensure the highest-quality experience possible.

SMART Online Banking Contest Rules
No purchase necessary. Must by 18 or older to enter. Promotion begins Monday, September 29 and ends Friday, October 17. Winners will be selected by random drawing from all eligible entries on Monday, October 20, and notified by phone and email. Winners will be notified by phone call and email on October 20 and will have 10 days to claim their prize. Prizes unclaimed after 10 days will be re-drawn. New winners will be notified by phone and email and will have 10 days to claim their prize. One winner per prize; winners may only win one prize. Employees of The Farmers Bank are not eligible to enter. All entries collected at all Farmers Bank locations are eligible. Odds of winning depend on the number of entries received. Prizes are non-transferable and cannot be exchanged for cash. Approximate retail value: iPhone 17 Pro - $1,055; iPad Air 13” - $600; Apple Watch Series 11 - $400. Each winner must complete a W-9 before receiving their prize and will receive a tax statement in January 2026. Apple is a trademark of Apple Inc.
