We are now hiring for the following position:

BSA/Security Officer                                   


Develop, implement and administer the Bank’s BSA Program to ensure compliance with the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), USA PATRIOT ACT, and the Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) requirements.  Develop, implement, and administer the Bank’s Security Program as required under the Bank Protection Act. 


  • Maintain a BSA Program with appropriate internal controls and procedures to ensure adherence to regulations and safeguard the Bank from illicit activity.
  • Proactively promote The Farmers Bank.
  • Assist internal and external customers to serve and exceed their expectations.
  • Accountable for all State and Federal regulations and bank policies/procedures that apply to this position and department:  
    • The Bank Protection Act, including a broad understanding the Uniform Commercial Code (UCC) related to checks and negotiable instruments, regulations governing electronic transactions, and identity theft laws and measures to aid in protection;
    • The Bank Secrecy and USA PATRIOT Act and requirements related to OFAC
  • Serve as a leader in supporting and setting the example for the Core Values and Customer Service Standards of The Farmers Bank.
  • Investigate all forgery claims and fraud related incidents for resolution &/or recovery; retain records of investigations; and review and evaluate security and loss prevention resources to reduce or eliminate future losses.
  • Report to the Board of Directors at least semi-annually on activity surrounding the BSA Program.
  • Provide consultation to management concerning security responsibilities and report to the Board of Directors at least annually on the activity surrounding the Security Program.
  • Collaborate with other Risk Management staff to ensure independent testing of the Program.
  • Investigate all noted or reported activity that may be unusual or suspicious in nature to ensure required reporting.
  • Maintain a Security Program designed to protect staff, customers, facilities, assets, records, & proprietary information.
  • Establish and maintain liaison with law enforcement and other authorities.
  • Prepare and/or conduct training for staff and the Board of Directors relative to BSA and Security.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.



High School Education or Equivalent with
Two year college degree or completion of a specialized course of study at a business or trade school - or -    of Completion of specialized and extensive in-house training


Understanding of BSA; Security; laws/regulations; general understanding of banking operations.


Five to ten years of similar or related experience.


Strong problem-solving skills; thorough knowledge of Bank policies and practices; strong organizational skills; solid analytical and reasoning skills.  Communication, leadership, and organizational skills are essential.  Outstanding oral and written communication skills; intermediate knowledge of PC and use of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint are also required.  Must be comfortable with technology and possess customer service skills.
