THE FARMERS BANK EARNS UNITED WAY’S COVETED COMPANY THAT CARES AWARD
Lebanon, IN — The Farmers Bank is among a select group in the six-county Central Indiana area that earned the coveted Company that Cares distinction for results during the 2009 United Way of Central Indiana (UWCI) annual workplace campaign, announced UWCI President and CEO Ellen K. Annala.
The recognition is awarded to organizations that reach their fundraising or participation goal and achieve benchmarks in volunteer community participation, leadership giving and more. Companies that Care also excel in educating employees about community needs and the best ways to meet them, and exemplify the spirit of volunteerism by allowing employees to give time to United Way programs and/or its agencies.
“To be named a Company that Cares award winner means that, in spite of a difficult economic climate, you continue to give, advocate and volunteer to improve lives in our community. Because you LIVE UNITED, we are able to provide services for those who need us most and break the cycle of poverty by helping children succeed in school. On behalf of United Way of Central Indiana, thank you for being a Company that Cares!” said Annala.
